Galaxy S26’s Exynos 2600 Delivers Competitive GPU Scores

Samsung is inching toward its next flagship launch, with its in-house Exynos processor back in the mix. After a Snapdragon-only Galaxy S25 series, the company is all set to ship some Galaxy S26 units with the Exynos 2600, though the Ultra might run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. We now have our first real-world look at the new Exynos chip’s graphics performance, powered by the Xclipse 960 GPU.
Exynos 2600-powered Galaxy S26 delivers impressive GPU performance
The global variant of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 (model number SM-S942B) recently surfaced on Geekbench running on the Exynos 26000. The listing confirmed the chip’s deca-core CPU setup featuring one prime core at 3.80GHz, three mid-cores at 3.26GHz, and six more mid-cores at 2.76GHz. Yes, it adopts an “all big cores” CPU design with no efficiency cores and promises a 39% boost in performance.
Additionally, we can see 12GB of RAM and Android 16-based software, likely with One UI 8.5 on top. On the graphics side, the Galaxy S26’s Exynos 2600 packs the Xclipse 960 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA4 architecture. Samsung allegedly designed the GPU in-house on its MGFX4 graphics technology.
During recent Geekbench tests, the Galaxy S26 achieved scores of up to 24,726, which is in the same range as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. While benchmarks never tell the full story, this is a promising sign. If the actual product delivers similar results, it’s a great achievement for Samsung, considering how earlier Exynos chips failed to match the performance of competing Snapdragon solutions.
And this isn’t only about the GPU. Exynos chips have been equally poor at CPU performance, but the Exynos 2600 appears to close that gap. The jump to Samsung’s 2nm process might also help it pull ahead in efficiency, as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is manufactured on a 3nm process. While Samsung may make a 2nm variant, it is unlikely to go inside Galaxy S26 phones.
Alongside the base Galaxy S26, Samsung may also ship some Galaxy S26+ units with the Exynos 2600. The S26 Ultra, on the other hand, may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally.
