Galaxy S26 AirDrop Support Update Lands in the US

Samsung has recently introduced AirDrop support to its Galaxy S26 series. The company began rolling out this feature through a software update, starting in its home country, South Korea. The update has now landed in the United States, letting users seamlessly share media with iPhones.
Quick Share enables seamless Galaxy-to-iPhone sharing
While Quick Share lets Galaxy users send files quickly, it remained limited to Android-to-Android transfers. Thankfully, Quick Share now works iPhones’ AirDrop, though only the latest Galaxy S26 series can take advantage of it right now. The company promised to bring this functionality to additional Galaxy devices at a later date.
In the US, Samsung has pushed a software update for the Galaxy S26 series with version AZCF. The update comes with an OTA size of over 800 MB (for the Galaxy S26 Ultra). While it still includes the February 2026 security patch instead of the March one, the key addition is AirDrop support. It adds a toggle called “Share with Apple devices” in the Quick Share settings.
Note that you will need to update Google Play Services to version 26.11.xx or later for AirDrop support to work properly. To do so, head over to this path: Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > App source info > Update. This will allow Quick Share to detect nearby iPhones for seamless media transfers.
Meanwhile, Samsung is gearing up to roll out the stable One UI 8.5 to its bunch of Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 are already part of the beta program. This suggests that these devices could be among the first to receive the stable build, though we don’t know the rollout timeline. Hopefully, the final version will include AirDrop support for all One UI 8.5 devices.
