We have known for a while that camera bumps are making a comeback on Galaxy flagships this year. We also know that Samsung is opting for a dual-layer camera island on Galaxy S26 phones. Now, fresh information sheds more light on this “new” design element on upcoming flagships. One of the layers in this vertical camera bump is apparently transparent, or translucent at the very least.

Galaxy S26’s camera bump has a transparent layer

Even though Samsung has yet to confirm the official launch date, Galaxy S26 leaks continue to surface from every direction. Tipster Ice Universe recently pointed out a transparent camera island design that subtly refreshes the phone’s rear look. According to the leaker, all three Galaxy S26 models are expected to share this design.

As mentioned above, the upcoming Galaxy flagships adopt a dual-layer camera bump. Instead of one thick slab, the first layer sits flush against the back panel and frames the camera sensors, while a second raised layer rests on top of it. This second layer appears transparent or translucent.

While a stacked structure already gives the camera module more visual depth without looking bulky, Samsung seems to be using a translucent finish to set the design apart. Metallic camera rings further enhance the look, giving the phone a clean but distinctive profile. The Korean firm has been steadily refining the Galaxy design, and the Galaxy S26 series marks one of the boldest shifts in recent years.

Samsung is widely expected to debut the Galaxy S26 series on February 25. The date isn’t official yet, but the company should soon confirm it. Pre-orders should begin immediately after launch, followed by full-scale sales a couple of weeks later. Meanwhile, prospective buyers in the US can sign up for our Mystery Box program to score a free 65W GaN charger and more accessories during pre-orders.
