Samsung dropped the 128GB base variant for the Galaxy S26 lineup this year, with all models now starting at 256GB. However, it turns out the 128GB version hasn’t been scrapped entirely; it’s just been moved out of reach for most consumers. The company has a special variant available for business customers, and it costs a lot less.

Samsung now sells the Galaxy S26 with 128GB of storage, but not everyone can buy it

In the UK, the standard Galaxy S26 starts at £899 for the 256GB model. However, Samsung has now launched an Enterprise Edition variant with 128GB storage, priced at just £660 (via GSMarena). That pricing makes the device substantially more affordable, especially in a year when Samsung has raised prices across the board.

However, the device isn’t meant for regular consumers. The Galaxy S26 Enterprise Edition is built for corporate clients, bulk deployments, and long-term business use. Samsung offers it through IT supply channels rather than retail stores, and each device typically comes bundled with additional services, such as Samsung Knox security, remote device management tools, extended business support, and Personal Data Engine for enterprise use.

For businesses managing hundreds or thousands of devices, these extras are often more valuable than higher storage. However, the existence of this phone also raises an obvious question: why isn’t it available to regular buyers? After all, the Galaxy S26 Enterprise Edition retains the same core hardware as the regular S26.

While it’s good to see Samsung standardize 256GB as the base storage, that upgrade comes at a cost. By removing the 128GB option, the company has effectively raised the entry price for the Galaxy S26 to $899 in the US. In a market already dealing with rising prices, keeping a lower-tier variant could have made the lineup more accessible.
