Galaxy S24 One UI 8 Beta Users Face Home Up Issue — Samsung Shares Fix

If you are running the latest One UI 8 beta on your Galaxy S24, you may face issues with Good Lock’s Home Up module. Several beta users have confirmed that the module doesn’t work properly, blocking them from customizing their One UI Home experience. The good news is that Samsung has acknowledged the problem and shared a quick fix.
Samsung shares a fix for the Home Up issue on One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S24 series
Last month, Samsung made its Home Up module compatible with the latest Android 16-based One UI 8. It also brought improvement in several areas, such as DIY Home Screen, Home Screen tools, Edge Panel, and Gesture Settings. However, when the Korean firm pushed the One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S24 series, it became incompatible, causing the Home Up app to stop working.
In a community post, an affected user wrote, “It says it’s not compatible with the OS. It tells me to update, but no matter what I do, it won’t work.” They updated the app, but had no luck fixing the issue, leaving many beta testers unable to customize their Galaxy experience. For the uninitiated, the Home Up module lets you apply different layouts to your home screen, apps, and folders. On top of that, you can create your own gesture animations, customize Edge panels, and more.
Thankfully, a community moderator from the Good Lock development team has confirmed the issue and shared a workaround. “Please delete the data in the Good Lock main app and try accessing the app again,” the moderator said. To do this, head over to this route: Settings > Apps > Good Lock > Storage > Clear Data. Users have confirmed that this workaround has successfully solved the issue.
While this is a basic troubleshooting step, many users might not be aware of it and may continue to struggle. However, such issues are common in beta builds, and Samsung will definitely address them in a potential subsequent beta release or in the stable build.
