Galaxy S24 Gets June 2025 Update in the US — One UI 8 Beta Could Be Nex

As users eagerly await the upcoming One UI 8 beta based on Android 16, Samsung has begun rolling out the June 2025 security update for the Galaxy S24 series in the US. The latest security patch has already been released in several other countries. With this rollout, Galaxy S24 users may not have to wait much longer to experience what’s next with One UI 8.
Galaxy S24 series picks up the June 2025 update in the US
Samsung’s monthly security patches address dozens of security vulnerabilities, enhancing device stability, security, and reliability. The June 2025 release contains nearly 60 vulnerability fixes, including some high-severity ones. The Korean company has been pushing these patches to eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets since early this month.
The Galaxy S24 series also picked up the June SMR (Security Maintenance Release) a couple of weeks ago. However, the initial release didn’t cover the US units. Samsung has finally expanded the update stateside, starting with the carrier-locked versions. The update carries the firmware build number S92*USQS4BYF2 and doesn’t bring anything more than this month’s 60-odd security fixes.
If you are using a carrier-locked Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra in the US, the June 2025 update should be available for your phone soon if it hasn’t already. Users with an unlocked unit can also expect to receive the new SMR in the coming days. To install the update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
As far as One UI 8 beta is concerned, Samsung has yet to officially announce it. Despite the Galaxy S25 series getting the beta program in late May, followed by a second beta release earlier this month, no other devices have received One UI 8 beta. That said, the company is actively testing the new version on several devices, so a broader beta rollout should follow soon. We will keep you posted.
