Galaxy S23 Series Inches Closer to One UI 8 Beta Program

In what might be Samsung’s way of apologizing for the One UI 7 delay, the company launched the One UI 8 beta program earlier this week. As expected, the Galaxy S25 series became the first to get a taste of the Android 16-based One UI 8. Now, it looks like Samsung may be preparing to extend the One UI 8 beta program to the Galaxy S23 series as well.
Galaxy S23 series might soon join the One UI 8 beta party
As shared by Tarun Vats on X, Samsung has created a Germany Community forum for the Galaxy S23 series One UI 8 beta program. This alone suggests that Samsung has big plans for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. We could soon see the Galaxy S23 series receiving the One UI 8 beta.

Vats also noted that Samsung has yet to create similar pages for India, Korea, Poland, the UK, or the US. So, these regions might be left out for now. However, that doesn’t mean the Galaxy S23 won’t get One UI 8 in those markets down the line. There’s no exact release schedule yet. But we’ll likely see the Galaxy S23 series receive the One UI 8 beta update sometime in June.
Additionally, Samsung has been internally testing the One UI 8 for the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, alongside newer models. This means these devices could also be eligible to try out the upcoming software early. Of course, not everyone should jump early for obvious reasons. One of which is there could be bugs.
A full public release is expected to arrive alongside the upcoming foldables, which could debut in July. Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 will run One UI 8 at launch. It’s a bit unusual that Samsung has opened the One UI 8 beta program while some devices haven’t fully received One UI 7 yet. But who’s complaining?
