Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos) Receives One UI 8 Update in India

Inch by inch, Samsung is ensuring that every eligible device receives the One UI 8 update. Of course, the rollout experienced some unexpected pauses and slowed down at times, but it’s safe to say that it’s reaching more users. A few days after Samsung rolled the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S21 FE in select regions, the update is now arriving in India.
Galaxy S21 FE now receiving its final update in India, say hi to One UI 8!
SammyGuru’s Mohammed Khatri spotted the development. According to him, the Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos) is now receiving the One UI 8 update in India. The build version in question is G990EXXUIHYJ2. It weighs 2,298.93 MB and includes the September 2025 security update. Notably, Samsung has also started rolling out the October 2025 security update for the Galaxy S21 FE, and more regions are expected to receive it in the coming days.
If you’re in India with a Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos), you can follow these steps to install the update. You can head to Settings > Download and install. Once the update file is downloaded, tap Install now. The installation will take some time, after which your Galaxy S21 FE will boot up running One UI 8.
The One UI 8 update also marks the final major update for the Galaxy S21 FE. The phone may receive one more incremental update—One UI 8.5—which will bring some new features. However, it won’t be eligible for Android 17-based One UI 9, which might launch next year around July/August if Samsung sticks to its schedule.
In other words, your Galaxy S21 FE is on its last lifeline and will soon be outdated. So, which phone should you consider once the Galaxy S21 FE has reached the end of its cycle? You have plenty of options: whether a flagship, another FE model, a foldable for a change, or even a Galaxy A series device would serve you well.
