Galaxy Ring’s Disconnect Alerts Could Soon Be Much More Useful

If you already own a Galaxy Ring, you know it relies on your phone for updates about battery levels and connectivity. So you get a heads-up when the battery drops too low or when the ring loses connection. But more often than not, those alerts don’t explain why something went wrong. That may soon change.
Galaxy Ring disconnect alerts may soon get battery info and time tracking
As spotted by our friends at Android Authority, Samsung is working on clearer and more helpful disconnect notifications for the Galaxy Ring. Instead of only saying that the ring is no longer connected, future alerts could also show the battery level at the time the connection was lost. That should make it easier to tell whether the ring ran out of charge, was left behind somewhere. Or whether it just failed to sync even though it still had some battery left.

The app also includes references to reminders that appear when the ring has been disconnected for several days. These notifications would tell users how long the ring has been offline. It will also nudge them to reconnect and charge it before the battery drains completely. Samsung even frames this as a way to “keep your ring healthy”.
This could be especially useful for people who don’t check their wearables every day. If you suddenly get a notification saying your ring has been disconnected for three days. That, at least gives you a rough timeline when trying to remember where you might’ve left it. It also lowers the chances of missing out on health data because the ring sat uncharged and unsynced for too long.
