Galaxy M17 5G Arriving in India on October 10, Key Specs Revealed

Samsung makes a lot of phones and keeps some models limited to certain markets. For instance, in the US, people might not know much about the Galaxy F or M series, even though they’re huge hits in developing economies. On that note, Samsung has announced the newest addition to the Galaxy M series in India, the Galaxy M17 5G.

Samsung has revealed Galaxy M17 5G’s key features

Samsung India confirmed on X that the Galaxy M17 5G will launch on October 10 and will be available on Amazon. As the name suggests, it will succeed the Galaxy M16 5G, launched earlier this year. Teaser images on Samsung India’s page and Amazon reveal some key specs of the Galaxy M17 5G ahead of its launch.

The Galaxy M17 will have a sleek design, with Samsung stating it will be just 7.5mm thick, making it slimmer than its predecessor, which launched at 7.8mm. On the front, it will sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. It will also feature an IP54 rating for splash resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus on the front for durability.

As for cameras, the phone will feature a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, it will have a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls. Additionally, it will support features like Circle to Search and Gemini Live.

The Galaxy M17 5G was also spotted in a Geekbench listing this August. That revealed Samsung may equip it with the Exynos 1330 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. Chances are pretty certain more options will be available, with the higher variant likely offering 8GB. It will most likely run One UI 7 out of the box, and will be eligible for six years of updates.
