Galaxy M14 gets One UI 7, M13 Picks Up May Security Update

Samsung’s One UI 7 update is available for the Galaxy M14, a budget phone from 2023. Simultaneously, the company is rolling out the May security patch to its predecessor, the Galaxy M13. Launched a year earlier, the latter isn’t eligible for One UI 7.
Galaxy M14 picks up Android 15 and One UI 7
The Galaxy M13 and Galaxy M14 are budget phones sold in select markets like India. The former debuted in 2022, while the latter arrived a year later. They ran Android 12 and Android 13, respectively, with Samsung promising two generations of major OS upgrades.
This means the Android 14-based One UI 6 was the last major update for the Galaxy M13. The Galaxy M14, meanwhile, was eligible for Android 15 and One UI 7, which is now rolling out in India. More specifically, the 4G version (SM-M145F) of this budget handset is picking up the new update. The 5G version (SM-M146B) may join the party in the coming days.
The update carries firmware version M145FXXU7DYE2 and weighs 2.7GB. It brings a revamped UI, new customization options, updates to stock apps, camera enhancements, and many more goodies. Along with One UI 7, the Galaxy M14 is also picking up the May 2025 security patch with this release.
While the Galaxy M13 isn’t eligible for One UI 7, it will continue to receive security patches until sometime in 2026 — Samsung offers security updates to its budget phones for up to four years from launch. The latest, May 2025 release, is now rolling out to the device with the firmware build number A135FXXSBEYE1. Neither of these phones will get One UI 8, which introduces Android 16.
Samsung is currently running One UI 8 beta programs for the Galaxy S25 series in some markets. The new version is expected to hit the stable channel in July, shipping with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Stay tuned for more information.
