Galaxy Buds 4, Buds 4 Pro Model Numbers Surface in One UI 8.5 Leak

We already know that Samsung is working on the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, which may not launch until early 2026. The frequently mentioned early-2026 timeline also suggests they could debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series. A recent leak further indicated that the vanilla Galaxy Buds 4 might launch alongside the Pro variant.
These might be the model numbers for the Galaxy Buds 4, Buds 4 Pro
As we get closer to the rumored launch window, a new deep dive has revealed what could be the official model numbers for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. The discovery comes via Android Authority, which spotted references to the upcoming wireless earbuds in a leaked One UI 8.5 build.

According to the findings, the Galaxy Buds 4 are expected to carry the model number SM-R540, while the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are listed as SM-R640. This continues Samsung’s consistent numbering scheme: the Buds 3 used SM-R530 and the Buds 3 Pro followed with SM-R630. The progression fits neatly as the company refreshes its lineup year over year.
Interestingly, the leaked One UI 8.5 build has given us an early chance to dig into what’s next. Reports suggest the Galaxy S26 series will debut with One UI 8.5 preinstalled, which places the actual release at least three months out.
Even so, the build has already uncovered some notable details — including early previews of new features and visual tweaks coming to core apps like Phone and My Files. These hints give us a clearer picture of what Samsung is preparing ahead of its next major hardware and software cycle.
