Galaxy A56 Gets June 2025 Update Globally, Fixes Dozens of Vulnerabilities

Samsung is expanding the rollout of the June 2025 security update for the Galaxy A56. Following a limited initial release earlier this month, the new premium mid-range smartphone is now picking up last month’s security patch globally. It brings over 60 vulnerability patches.

The Galaxy A56 was the first Samsung smartphone to receive the June SMR (Security Maintenance Release). It picked up the update early in the month, starting with select countries in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The Korean firm is now rolling out the new security patch worldwide. Depending on the market, the update carrier the firmware build number A566BXS4AYE5 or A566EXXS4AYE5.

The latest software update for the Galaxy A56 focuses solely on improving the phone’s security. It does not introduce any new features or performance enhancements. Instead, it patches multiple vulnerabilities found in previous software versions, ensuring a safer user experience. The June SMR addresses over 60 security flaws across the Galaxy ecosystem, including several high-severity issues.

If you’re using the Galaxy A56, you can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. This phone supports seamless updates, so your downtime won’t be long. The device will install the update in the background and restart to complete the process. Devices that do not support seamless updates remain unusable throughout the installation process.

Launched with Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box, the Galaxy A56 is eligible for Samsung’s extended software support program. It promises six major Android updates and seven years of security patches. That means the handset is set to receive updates well into the 2030s. The phone’s first major update — Android 16-based One UI 8 — is already in development and is expected to roll out over the next few months.
