Samsung began the rollout of its August 2025 security update with the Galaxy A56, followed by the A55 a week later. The Korean firm is now pushing the update for the Galaxy A54 with the latest security enhancements. As of now, the update is available in South Korea, with other regions expected to get it in the coming days.

Samsung rolls out August 2025 security update for Galaxy A54

Launched in 2023, Samsung’s Galaxy A54 will receive five years of security patches, which is pretty long support for a mid-range device. This month’s security build for the smartphone comes with version A546SKSSCDYH1. You can check for the update from Settings > Software Update > Download and install. Once available, you should install it as soon as possible so your device remains protected against the latest security threats.

The August 2025 patch fixes nearly 50 issues, including 28 high-severity, one critical, and 18 Galaxy-specific vulnerabilities. For example, the update fixes a big flaw in the Samsung Account that allowed local privileged attackers to deactivate the account. While this update may not excite you as it mainly focuses on security improvements, a bigger update is on the way in the form of the One UI 8 beta.

Samsung has confirmed that its Galaxy A54 will be part of the One UI 8 beta program in September 2025. The company opened the program in May, starting with the Galaxy S25 series and later expanding to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. If you want to try it out, you can register through the Samsung Members app.

This will allow you to get a taste of the customized Android 16 software ahead of the final release. The One UI 8 update brings meaningful improvements over its predecessor, One UI 7. You will see revamped interfaces across several apps, such as Quick Share and Reminder. On top of that, it offers improved animations and overall performance.
