Do you still have a Galaxy A52s in your pocket? If so, you might want to check for a new software update. Samsung has just released a fresh firmware update for its most powerful 2021 mid-ranger, bringing the June 2025 security patch to the device. The update, carrying build number A528BXXSBGYF1, is currently rolling out in select Asian countries. A wider release should follow in the coming days.

Galaxy A52s grabs Samsung’s June 2025 security update

According to the Korean firm’s official security bulletin, the June 2025 security patch for Galaxy devices addresses nearly 60 vulnerabilities. These include serious flaws in Samsung’s software as well as Google’s version of Android OS, which makes the core of the One UI experience on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Some vulnerabilities are more severe than others, potentially allowing remote access to affected devices.

Samsung has been rolling out these patches to eligible models since early this month, and the Galaxy A52s is now picking it up in some regions. While the doesn’t bring any new features or visual changes, it enhances the security of your phone, and that makes it worth installing. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it’s not available yet, don’t worry — rollouts happen in stages and can take a few weeks to reach all regions.

Among the Galaxy A52 lineup, the A52s is the only model still receiving updates. However, its days are numbered too. The phone is no longer eligible for feature updates — it isn’t getting Android 15/ One UI 7 — while security updates may stop in a couple of months. In fact, this could be the last security release for the Galaxy A52s, which debuted in August 2021. Or maybe Samsung will offer extended support to the device; we shall find out in due course.
