Galaxy A36, Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro Pick Up March 2026 Security Update

Even though Samsung is busy launching new models, it’s also fulfilling its update promises to eligible devices. Most recently, two Samsung devices—the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro—have started receiving the March 2026 security update.
March 2026 update rolls out to Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro and Galaxy A36
Samsung is now rolling out the March 2026 security update to the Galaxy A36, whose successor—the Galaxy A37—was also released today. At the same time, the March 2026 security update is rolling out to the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro. The build versions are A366NKSS5BZC3 and X356BXXS6BZC2, respectively. Based on these, the update seems to be live in Korea and Mexico, respectively.
Samsung says the March 2026 security update delivers roughly 60 fixes for Android, along with seven patches for One UI. One fix addresses a flaw in Secure Folder, where improper handling of Android app components could allow a local attacker to trigger certain activities. The issue has been fixed by enforcing proper permission checks.
It takes time for the update to reach all regions, so you may have to wait if it hasn’t arrived on your Galaxy A36 or Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro. This happens because Samsung assigns different CSC codes to each device, so rollouts are gradual. You can read more about CSC here.
Still, it’s worth checking whether the update has arrived on your device. To do that, go to Settings > Software update. If the update is available, tap Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap Install now. After installation, your device will reboot and run the latest available security update.
