A few days ago, Samsung quietly launched the Galaxy A07 5G in Thailand. The company is now gearing up to introduce the new affordable 5G phone in more markets, including India. Ahead of the official announcement, pricing details for the Indian market have surfaced online. The figures reflect the broader wave of price hikes sweeping through the industry, a trend that may raise questions for prospective Galaxy S26 buyers.

Galaxy A07 5G may see a substantial price hike in India

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy A07 5G in India in two configurations. The base variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at ₹15,999 (approx. $175), while the higher-end model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is expected to retail for ₹17,999 (approx. $199). The tipster seemingly obtained the info from Samsung’s internal communication with retail partners, so the figures are likely accurate.

Unfortunately, the leaked prices suggest a substantial hike, possibly enforced by rising component costs. Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy A06 5G in the same two configurations at prices of ₹11,499 and ₹12,999, respectively. We are now staring at a ₹5,000 (approx. $55) hike for the top model. The Galaxy A07 5G doesn’t bring enough upgrades to warrant such a steep price increase.

By the looks of it, rising memory chip costs have pushed Samsung to increase the prices of its new budget 5G phone. While that may sound worrying for prospective Galaxy S26 buyers, the two situations aren’t directly comparable. Budget phones operate on much thinner margins, leaving them far more vulnerable to fluctuations in component prices. Flagships, by contrast, still deliver healthy profits and can absorb higher manufacturing costs more easily.

That said, Samsung may end up increasing Galaxy S26 prices in some regions, if not globally. The company may also cut preorder perks to save costs. Stay tuned for the official launch in late October. Meanwhile, if the Galaxy A07 5G is something you are considering, it might arrive in India and many other regions in the coming days.
