Samsung’s next budget 5G smartphone, the Galaxy A07, is getting closer to its official launch. The company has prepared support pages and obtained regulatory approvals for the device. Now, it has appeared in a Geekbench listing, confirming some of the rumored specifications.

Galaxy A07 5G shows up in Geekbench ahead of official launch

The Galaxy A07 5G will succeed the Galaxy A06, one of the world’s best-selling smartphones this year. While Samsung has already launched its 4G version, the 5G model is expected later this month or in early 2026. Ahead of that, the device has surfaced on Geekbench with the model number SM-A076B. The listing confirms that the phone will reuse the same chipset as its predecessor.

The handset is listed with an octa-core chipset featuring two prime cores at 2.40 GHz and six base cores at 2.00 GHz. It appears to be MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300, the very same chip found in the Galaxy A06 5G. Built on TSMC’s 6nm process, the chip integrates the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

While capable, this chip is now outdated. Samsung could have delivered noticeably better performance by equipping the Galaxy A07 5G with one of its recent budget Exynos processors. The good news is that a 6GB RAM option may remain available despite memory prices skyrocketing in recent options. The base variant may still come with 4GB of RAM, though.

On the software side, the Galaxy A07 5G appears to ship with Android 16, layered with One UI 8. Based on Samsung’s recent update commitments for budget and mid-range phones, the device should receive six major Android OS updates, potentially taking it as far as Android 22. That level of long-term support continues to be one of the company’s strongest advantages in the entry-level market. Stay tuned for the official launch in the coming weeks.
