Despite 45W Certification, Galaxy S26 Ultra May Still Get 60W charging

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra has been subject to several conflicting rumors. From camera upgrades to built-in Qi2 magnets to charging speeds, the leaks have been all over the place. The latest twist now brings some good news, as a trusted tipster claims the Ultra will indeed support 60W fast charging. This comes just days after the device was certified with 45W charging.
Galaxy S26 Ultra still rumored to offer 60W charging
Over the summer, One UI 8.5 firmware clues and leaks hinted at a long-awaited jump to 60W fast charging on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The news stirred excitement in the Galaxy community, since Samsung hasn’t gone beyond 45W in years. However, the excitement was short-lived, as a regulatory certification in China listed the phone with charging profiles of 10V/4.5A or 15V/3A, which correspond to 45W.
Fortunately, that may not be the end of the story. Reputed tipster Ice Universe, who originally reported this charging boost, claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will still top up the battery at up to 60W speeds. While we do not have more information, the source is often accurate with their Samsung leaks, so we have a reason to believe them.
As for the certification mismatch, it’s possible the device was simply tested with a 45W charger — a fairly common practice. If that’s the case, a 60W boost could still be on the table. Another possibility is that the Chinese version of the Galaxy S26 Ultra remains capped at 45W, though that scenario seems unlikely. We shall find out in the coming weeks as the Galaxy S26 lineup enters mass production.
