It’s quite an exciting day for One UI fans, at least in South Korea. After rolling out the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy S24 FE, Samsung is pushing the update to the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Popular Samsung leaker Tarun Vats posted the good news over on X.
This update weighs in at just under 5GB and carries a build number of BYD7, which is different from the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ (AYC5). In addition, it comes bundled with the March 2025 security patch. While the update is currently rolling out in Korea, it could still be a few days before it arrives in other regions for the Tab S10 series. We will surely let you know when it arrives in the US.
One UI 7 enhances your Galaxy Tab experience
We went hands-on with One UI 7 on tablets in our initial look at the new Galaxy Tab S10 FE+. Unfortunately, Samsung forgot to optimize the new quick settings and notification panel for tablets. There is a ton of wasted space in both panels, something that likely persists in the flagship Tab S10 lineup. Or maybe not, we shall find out soon.
The good news is, there are a few big improvements for larger screens in One UI 7. The update brings a redesigned taskbar with a more intuitive swipe-up gesture, similar to Google’s Pixel Tablet. Samsung also added a new split-screen view for file information in the My Files app. Aside from these two features, the familiar UI elements from One UI 7 all exist on tablets. While present, they feel like a bit of an afterthought. Considering how polished One UI 7 is on phones, we hope Samsung will improve things down the road for tablets.
We expect that other regions will receive One UI 7 on Tab S10 devices in the coming weeks. The US, Europe, and Canada are most likely to follow the Korean release. It seems Samsung is on a roll, pushing One UI 7 to new devices, at least in Korea. Stay tuned to the site for up-to-the-minute coverage for your device and region!
