Apple’s iPhone Air 2 Will Finally Match the Galaxy S25 Edge in at Least One Way

Even though neither the Galaxy S25 Edge nor the iPhone Air seemed to appeal to the masses, Apple has apparently not ditched plans for a sequel. Multiple reliable reports have suggested the possibility. A new one reveals that the iPhone Air 2 could finally match the Galaxy S25 Edge in at least one way.
iPhone Air 2 will finally match the Galaxy S25 Edge with two cameras, report says
According to a report from The Information, Apple’s iPhone Air 2 will feature two rear cameras. That may not sound like much of an upgrade to those out of the loop. For context, the current iPhone Air comes with just a single rear camera, a 48MP wide sensor. While details about the second camera are unclear, it could be a 48MP ultrawide, similar to what the iPhone 17 offers.
The report also claims that Apple plans to launch the iPhone Air 2 at a lower price than the first generation. That would be unusual for Apple, and with memory prices rising, it’s hard to see how the company would pull that off. For what it is worth, Apple launched the original iPhone Air at a more competitive price than the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge at $1,099 for the 256GB variant. Meanwhile, the iPhone Air debuted at $999 for the same storage. Months after launch, the Galaxy S25 Edge now retails for around $799 for the 256GB model on Amazon. Similarly, the iPhone Air is also available at lower prices through offline retailers.
How much of this holds up remains to be seen. A camera upgrade seems plausible, but the pricing claim is something to be cautious about for now. As GSMArena notes, Apple rarely opts for $50 price increments, so a $899 starting price for the iPhone Air 2 would not be surprising. For now, we will have to wait and see what Apple has planned for 2026, and whether Samsung intends to revive the Edge lineup or quietly shelve it.
