Samsung’s flagship cameras have lagged behind rivals in recent years, but the company is preparing a major comeback soon. To reclaim its edge, Samsung is reportedly planning significant hardware and software upgrades for the Galaxy S26 series. One of the groundbreaking new additions could be the AI-powered Neural Framing. This next-gen camera technology could completely change how smartphones capture and process images.

Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Neural Framing prepares the shot before you shoot

Neural Framing could be Samsung’s most advanced camera software innovation in years. According to reliable X leaker @SPYGO19726, aka ß, it is an AI-assisted composition engine that predicts and frames the best possible shot before you even tap the shutter button. Unlike traditional AI processing that enhances photos after capture, this new system works proactively. It analyzes scenes in real time to prepare the optimal image composition, lighting, and focus before you take the shot.

In the leaker’s words, “Think of it as the phone seeing the shot before you do.” This could dramatically reduce missed moments and help users capture perfectly timed shots, especially in fast-moving or low-light conditions. Neural Framing could also help improve Samsung’s color science, an area where the company needs to work on.

Samsung is expected to include this feature across the Galaxy S26 lineup, not just the Ultra model. However, its rollout could depend on the company’s ongoing chipset situation. Samsung is still fine-tuning its in-house Exynos 2600 processor, aiming to use it in as many Galaxy S26 models as possible. Even so, some markets will likely continue to receive units powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which could influence how uniformly Neural Framing is implemented across regions.

The new flagships should launch in late February 2026, with sales beginning in early March. The Ultra model will headline the lineup as Samsung’s ultimate AI phone, marking a major milestone in its long-term push toward on-device intelligence. If Neural Framing works as promised, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could offer a level of camera awareness and precision that no smartphone has achieved before.
