It’s been a month since Samsung kicked off the stable One UI 8 rollout for Galaxy devices. It looks like the company has now spotted bugs in the stable builds for some models. After recently halting the update for the Galaxy S22 lineup, the company has now done the same for the Galaxy S24 series.

Galaxy S24’s One UI 8 update pulled from servers

A few days ago, Samsung temporarily halted the One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra in several regions. The update was pulled from servers just a week after its release. The company has since resumed the rollout in most markets, but didn’t specify the reason for the pause.

Meanwhile, Samsung has now pulled the One UI 8 firmware for all three Galaxy S24 models from its servers in South Korea. This means users in the region can no longer download or install the update via OTA or Smart Switch. At present, it’s unclear whether the company plans to extend the suspension to other markets.

Interestingly, Samsung has yet to resume the One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S22 series in its home country. This hints at an issue specific to Korean units, but we do not have official confirmation. Most Galaxy S24 users have already upgraded to One UI 8, as the update has been put for almost a month now.Β The late halt suggests Samsung may have uncovered a critical but rare issue that only recently came to light.

As of this writing, there haven’t been any widespread user complaints or reports of serious bugs. Users who already have One UI 8 installed can continue using their phones as usual. Samsung should resume the rollout once it identifies and fixes the underlying problem. We will let you know if it comments on the matter.
