Galaxy A27 Appears on Geekbench, But Something Feels Off

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57. However, the company did not introduce the Galaxy A27 yet, which is expected to arrive later this year. The device has now surfaced on Geekbench, giving us an early look at its performance, although the results seem questionable.

Galaxy A27 appears on Geekbench with unusual scores and configurations

First spotted by Abhishek Yadav, the Galaxy A27 has appeared on the Geekbench database. The model listed is SM-A276B, which is the global variant. It scores 777 in single-core and 1802 in multi-core CPU tests. The listing also mentions the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset along with the Adreno 710 GPU. The build version is A276BXXU0AZC6, and the tested unit comes with 6GB of RAM.

At first glance, these scores appear quite low, even lower than the Galaxy A26, which scores over 1000 in single-core and around 3000 in multi-core tests. The Galaxy A26 features the Exynos 1380, and Samsung now seems to be shifting towards Snapdragon for the Galaxy A27, possibly aiming for better overall performance and stability.

However, in this segment, several brands offer stronger chipsets and better performance. Using a processor that could be around two years old by the time of launch may not be ideal. The Galaxy A2* series sits between the A1* and A3* lineup, so expectations are naturally higher. Samsung could have offered a more capable processor here.

That said, there is still a strong possibility that this listing may not be accurate. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is capable of better performance, as seen on devices like the Galaxy A36. In the past, we have seen several such listings that turned out to be misleading.

Adding to the doubt, the Geekbench listing shows a 4+4 core setup with clusters at 1.8 GHz and 2.4 GHz. This does not match known chipsets. For example, the Exynos 1380 and Dimensity 6300 have efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz or higher, while the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 uses a 1.8 GHz and 2.2 GHz setup. This mismatch suggests the listing may be spoofed or unreliable.

As we move closer to the launch, more details should emerge.
