Samsung Galaxy Weekly Update Roundup (Feb 22-March 1)

This week was busy and exciting for Samsung fans. It started with leaks and early unboxing of the Galaxy S26 series. Toward the end of the week, Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy S26 lineup at its Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung also finally began rolling out the February 2026 security patch after a long wait, even though we are already in the last week of February. Surprisingly, the company released the One UI 8.5 Beta 6 update for the Galaxy S25 lineup as well. Last updated on February 28.
Samsung releases One UI 8.5 Beta 6 update and February 2026 security patch
Samsung unexpectedly pushed One UI 8.5 Beta 6 for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In India and Poland, the same update carries an earlier numbering and is labeled as One UI 8.5 Beta 5. Many expected this to be the final beta, but Samsung seems to have other plans. New test builds have already appeared on servers, hinting at a possible Beta 7 release in the coming weeks.

Samsung also updated One UI 8.5 test builds for a few other models this week. However, there is some concerning news for Galaxy S21 FE users. Samsung customer support reportedly said that the Galaxy S21 FE may not receive the One UI 8.5 stable update. No test builds have appeared on servers so far, which adds to the uncertainty. That said, customer support information is not always accurate, so this should not be taken as final confirmation.
As far and security patch release is concerned, Samsung finally started rolling out the February 2026 security patch. The update is now available for the Galaxy S25 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy A56, and several other devices in multiple regions. The February 2026 patch fixes 37 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and their partners.
