Samsung Galaxy S22 Faces Bootloop Issues After Latest Update

It looks like some Galaxy S22 users are experiencing a strange issue after installing the latest update. They are complaining that their devices are stuck in an endless restart cycle (also known as a bootloop). The company has not yet officially acknowledged the problem.
The latest software update brought weird issues for some Galaxy S22 users
Samsung’s latest software update (likely January 2026 patch) appears to have left some Galaxy S22 series owners disappointed. According to PiunikaWeb, citing multiple user complaints, the update caused some devices to get stuck on the Samsung logo screen. It also does not let the user reach the lock screen. While some users can still use their devices, they experience frequent freezing and random restarts.
Affected users have also tried several troubleshooting methods to fix the issue, but they did not work. These include wiping the cache partition, performing a factory reset, disabling Auto Optimization, turning off RAM Plus, and enabling Power Saving Mode.
Battery-related complaints are also appearing alongside the bootloop issue. For example, a user saw weird behavior in the battery level, dropping from around 80% to 16% within minutes. Moreover, the phone suddenly shut down after showing around 20% charge, and now it won’t charge at all. While this may suggest battery failure, it remains unclear whether the software update triggered the problem.
Another Galaxy S22 user claimed that the recent software update caused the motherboard to crash. The company offered the user a discount on the repair, but the user demanded a replacement instead. We’ll let you know if more reports of hardware issues with the software update surface online, or if Samsung issues an official statement on the matter.
Meanwhile, two Galaxy S22 users have reportedly filed a lawsuit against Samsung for a past software update. The One UI 6.1.1 update (released in late 2024) allegedly caused several Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra devices to get stuck in an endless reboot, resulting in data loss and ultimately failure.
