Galaxy Buds 4 Dummy units show differences between the earbuds
New non-functional dummy unit photos of Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro have leaked online. This gives us another sneak peek at what Samsung is preparing for its next-generation earbuds.
The images shared by @Mr_TechTalkTV on X show both models. The first thing that stands out is the clear difference in finish and overall design approach. Galaxy Buds 4 Pro have a matte finish. In contrast, Galaxy Buds 4 have a glossy finish.
Galaxy Buds 4 Pro Design
Galaxy Buds 4 Pro feature a matte finish, giving them a more premium and refined look. In these photos, the earbuds appear in black. We can clearly spot the charging pins on the stem, the silicone ear tip, and the overall updated shape.
We also get a look at the earbuds inside the charging case. The Pro model keeps the redesigned Blade Design with a brushed metal finish, which looks slightly more polished than before.
The charging case looks closer to the Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro cases, rather than the Galaxy Buds 3 series vertical case.
Galaxy Buds 4 Design
The Galaxy Buds 4 follow a similar overall design language, but Samsung gives them a glossy finish instead of matte. This immediately separates them from the Pro model.
Unlike the Pro version, these are open-ear style earbuds without silicone ear tips. This confirms that these earbuds target a different target audience. They still feature the same brushed metal Blade Design as the Buds 4 Pro. On the stem, we can see the charging pins and one of the microphones positioned near the bottom. The leaked unit here appears in white.
Galaxy Buds 4 Charging case details
Both Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro feature a clear top lid, similar to the Galaxy Buds 3 series. The Galaxy Buds 4 case reveals a USB-C charging port and a physical button for pairing and triggering Find My Phone, which makes your phone ring if missplaced.
One interesting detail: this final dummy case does not include a speaker, even though earlier leaked animations suggested one might be present. Thus, it’s possible Samsung scrapped that feature late in the development, or it could simply be missing from these non-functional units. We don’t know yet if that’s the case or not.
For now, these dummy units give us our clearest look yet at these earbuds. Personally, I like the direction Samsung is taking. The design looks cleaner and more refined. Hopefully, we won’t see the quality control issues that affected parts of the Galaxy Buds 3 series.
