Leaks around the Galaxy S26 series have been plentiful, but pricing has remained one of the biggest unknowns. Some reports suggest Samsung will hold prices in line with the Galaxy S25 lineup, while others point to a modest increase. A new report now flips the narrative entirely. According to the latest information, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could actually launch at a lower price than the S25 Ultra in some markets.

Galaxy S26 Ultra tipped to be cheaper than its predecessor

German publication WinFuture claims that Samsung is standardizing 256GB of storage across the entire Galaxy S26 series. There will be no 128GB variant, not even for the base S26 model. The 256GB Galaxy S26 with 12GB of RAM is said to cost 11,990 Swedish kronor. For comparison, the Galaxy S25 launched at 9,990 kronor for 128GB and 10,990 kronor for 256GB.

If this pricing holds, we are looking at a 1,000 kronor (roughly $115) hike in Sweden. This may be something Samsung couldn’t avoid due to the recent increase in component prices, especially memory chips. The Galaxy S26+, meanwhile, may start at the same price as its predecessor. The 256GB variant could cost 14,490 kronor, though the 512GB variant may see a 1,000 kronor hike to 16,990 kronor.

The bigger surprise, however, comes with the Ultra model. The 256GB Galaxy S26 Ultra is reportedly priced at 16,990 kronor, down from the 17,990 kronor launch price of the S25 Ultra. Given the ongoing narrative around rising memory costs, this move is unexpected from Samsung. While buyers may miss out on double-storage preorder deals this year, a lower entry price is a welcome trade-off.

That said, these figures are based on leaked Scandinavian pricing. The final numbers may vary by region, depending on local taxes and other factors. But if this is true, the Galaxy S26 series may keep largely similar prices to the Galaxy S25 in most markets. We shall find out soon.
