Samsung TV Plus Brings 24-Hour Terrestrial News Channels

In recent years, Samsung TV Plus has added tons of channels and on-demand content for viewers around the world. The company has now launched 24-hour terrestrial news channels on its streaming platform in South Korea. This will allow users to access news programs anytime, without a subscription, a set-top box, or signing up.

For the uninitiated, Samsung TV Plus is a free, ad-supported streaming service. It is available on Galaxy phones, tablets, smart TVs, and more. The platform mainly focuses on entertainment and dramas, but with this new addition, it is expanding into live news content.

Samsung TV Plus now features KBS News 24 and SBS No. 1 News Live, which broadcast terrestrial news programs 24/7. The KBS News 24 broadcasts a host of KBS’s news programs, including KBS News 9, KBS News 12, and KBS News Plaza. Apart from live coverage, the channel also airs KBS1 and KBS2, letting viewers catch up on important news and current affairs at any time.

Meanwhile, SBS No. 1 News Live brings SBS 8 News, SBS 10 News, SBS 12 News, SBS Oh News, Nightline, and Morning Wide. The channel delivers breaking news quickly, helping viewers stay informed about rapidly changing social issues. When live broadcasts are not on, it shows major news programs from the past 24 hours.

Furthermore, Samsung TV Plus offers a bunch of specialized news and economic channels. These include JTBC News, MBN News, YTN, Maeil Business Newspaper TV, Yonhap News TV, and Korea Economic TV. The company says the platform has reached 100 million monthly active users in 30 countries. It offers about 4,300 live channels and 66,000 on-demand programs for free.
