Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series may not arrive in the market for another two months, but whispers about the S27 lineup are already getting louder. Early leaks suggest that the company is quietly laying the groundwork for more meaningful camera changes with the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Rather than chasing headline-grabbing 1-inch sensors, the company appears to be focusing on deeper silicon-level innovation to push image quality forward.

Galaxy S27 Ultra tipped to debut ISOCELL HP6 200MP camera with the same size

Renowned tipster Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a brand-new ISOCELL HP6 as its primary camera. While we do not have detailed specs, the source says the new sensor will have a similar physical size to the ISOCELL HP2 found in recent Ultra models, including the upcoming S26 Ultra. We are basically talking about a 200MP unit with a 1/1.3-inch optical format.

This may not sound very promising, but the tipster suggests the HP6 will introduce “more new technologies.” We may see architectural upgrades across several key areas, including HDR processing, noise handling, and video performance. The same source previously hinted at upgrades for the 200MP main camera on the Galaxy S27 Ultra, so Samsung likely has some notable improvements in the pipeline.

The 2027 Ultra is also rumored to bring upgrades to both the 50MP ultrawide camera and the 12MP front-facing shooter. Paired with continued advances in software processing and ISP development, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could deliver more meaningful gains in overall camera performance. That said, these details remain speculative for now, though Samsung is clearly aware that it needs to raise the bar on imaging in the near future. Stay tuned for further updates.
