Samsung’s next premium wireless earbuds are moving closer to launch. While it’s still unclear whether the Galaxy Buds 4 series will debut alongside the Galaxy S26, the timing looks increasingly likely. The Buds 4 Pro has now cleared FCC certification, a key step toward a US release.

FCC certified the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro ahead of launch

As usual, FCC certified the left and right earbuds separately under FCC IDs A3LSMR640L and A3LSMR640R. The listings reconfirm the model number SM-R640 for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. While no consumer-facing features or specifications were revealed, the certification basically confirms that the new buds are headed to the US soon.

Earlier leaks have revealed a subtle redesign of the Galaxy Buds 4 series. The upcoming earphones retain the stem-based design and vents introduced with the Buds 3 lineup, but with flatter stems that offer better overall usability. The charging case also now houses the buds horizontally, which could improve ease of use and reduce wear over time.

Leaks have also hinted at several meaningful upgrades on the software and experience side. Samsung is reportedly gearing up to offer enhanced gesture controls on the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, allowing users to adjust specific functions directly from the earbuds with more precision than before. Active noise cancellation (ANC) may also get some functional upgrades.

With Galaxy AI playing a growing role across Samsung’s ecosystem, intelligent sound processing is expected to improve how the earbuds adapt to different environments. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro may do a better job at separating background noise or enhancing voice clarity during calls.

Battery life is another area where Samsung may improve things. More efficient components and internal optimizations may allow the company to boost the battery life without a dramatic hardware overhaul. If Samsung plans an early 2026 launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series, expect more leaks to follow soon.
