Samsung has continued to show solid performance in the global smartphone market. The company secured five spots in the top 10 best-selling smartphones list for Q3 2025. Thanks to the firm’s Galaxy A lineup, from entry-level models to premium mid-range devices, it succeeded in attracting a larger number of buyers around the world.

Galaxy A series played a key role in driving sales in Q3 2025

According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung’s Galaxy A16 5G, A06, A36, A56, and A16 4G claimed the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th positions, respectively. Meanwhile, the remaining five spots went to the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and the newly released iPhone 17 Pro Max, dominating the premium segment.

Samsung’s positions on the list show that the company has made significant improvements to its latest mid-range Galaxy devices. The Galaxy A16 5G led the charge as the best-selling Android smartphone for the quarter. This is likely because of the growing consumer interest in affordable 5G devices.

Other mid-range models, such as the Galaxy A36 and A56, also performed quite well. The reason is that Galaxy AI tools like Best Face and Nightography made their way to these models. Thanks to faster charging and longer software support, these devices now offer a near-flagship experience at an affordable price.

Interestingly, Samsung’s LTE models, the Galaxy A16 4G and A06, continued to sell well in emerging markets, including Latin America and the Middle East and Africa (MEA). They account for more than half of the sales volume for each model. It is worth mentioning that Samsung’s Galaxy A17 sold well during Q3 thanks to festive promotions. As a result, the Galaxy A17 likely cannibalized sales of the older A16 models.

The Q3 2025 list missed the Galaxy S25 Ultra (featured in Q1 and Q2), the company’s latest flagship smartphone. However, this is understandable, as consumers may have been waiting for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. Hopefully, in Q1 2026, the list will once again feature Samsung’s premium offering.
