Of course, AI comes in handy in some ways, such as researching products and comparing features, but you shouldn’t rely on it for finding real-time discounts.

AI tools are great for product research, but they may not help you find deals

OpenAI recently introduced shopping research in ChatGPT to help you find the right products. The company says that instead of sifting through dozens of websites, you can just describe what you’re looking for. For example, you can ask ChatGPT to suggest the best Samsung TVs, and the tool will show an option “Research the best Samsung TVs.” Tapping it lets you answer questions about your budget, size preferences, key features, and more. The AI will then recommend a selection of products. If you want to buy one, you can click through to the retailer’s website.

However, an AI tool may not guarantee the most up-to-date deals without real-time access to every retailer’s promotions. Black Friday sales change quickly. Prices can drop or increase within hours, and some deals are only available for a limited time.

Basically, what we want to tell you is that ChatGPT’s newly launched Shopping Research is helpful for research, but you shouldn’t consider it as a source for Black Friday deals.
