Folks at Android Authority, while digging through one of the leaked One UI 8.5 builds, spotted something that appears to confirm the charging speed boost coming to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Buried in the software strings is a reference to “Super fast charging 3.0.” It sits under a new Level 4 charging tier, right above the current 45W Level 3 entry. There is no direct mention of 60W, but it aligns perfectly with earlier rumors.

For context, in the current Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Edge top out at 25W. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra go up to 45W. Samsung labels these Super Fast Charging and Super Fast Charging 2.0. And if Super Fast Charging 3.0 signals anything, it likely points to the rumored 60W charging bump that Samsung hasn’t offered in years.

It would be a natural upgrade for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and this small code discovery is the clearest indication yet that Samsung is preparing to increase its wired charging speeds. There are still plenty of unknowns, especially regarding wireless charging and whether the lower S26 models will see similar improvements. But one thing is certain.
