One UI 8 Dynamic Wallpaper Issue Gets Official Fix From Samsung

Samsung has released an update for its Samsung Wallpaper app, addressing the annoying “dynamic wallpaper reset” issue reported in One UI 8. The new version is rolling out via the Galaxy Store, and you should install it to stop wallpapers from reverting to the default image overnight. The fix arrives roughly a month after Samsung first acknowledged the bug and promised a patch.
Samsung addresses the dynamic wallpaper reset issue with a new update
Samsung’s Dynamic Wallpaper system received some notable visual and functional enhancements in One UI 8. However, many users quickly discovered a frustrating glitch: despite selecting or creating a custom dynamic wallpaper, the phone would frequently reset to Samsung’s default wallpaper. The switch oven happened overnight, and users couldn’t do anything about it.
This issue surfaced across several Galaxy models, and Samsung quickly acknowledged it. In an official statement, a community moderator confirmed that the problem was caused by a bug within the Samsung Wallpaper app. They promised a fix soon, and that fix is now finally here. Users should begin receiving the updated app through the Galaxy Store over the next few days.
Once updated, dynamic wallpaper should no longer reset unexpectedly, preserving the custom gradients you selected. However, it could take a while for the new version to reach users worldwide. To check for updates, open the Galaxy Store, tap on the hamburger menu in the top left (three horizontal lines), select Updates, and see if there’s an available update for Samsung Wallpaper.
Because the Wallpaper app is a system component, it may receive the update automatically without any action on your part. Monitor your dynamic wallpaper over the next few days to ensure the problem is resolved. If you still notice resets, wait a little longer and refresh the Galaxy Store updates tab.
