Galaxy S26 Leak Suggests Slimmer Profile and Qi2 Magnets

Going by the latest reports, Samsung may not have planned the Galaxy S26 Pro, and instead, we might see the classic trio make a return. That means we’ll see the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra set the stage in February. If you plan to get either of these, registrations for the Mystery Box are now open. Doing so, you can score some free gifts.
Could Galaxy S26 finally drop the “Qi2-ready” tag for a truly magnetic future?
According to leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 could measure just 6.9mm thick, compared to the current 7.2mm thickness of the Galaxy S25. That would mark a noticeable reduction in thickness. If true, it means Samsung isn’t giving up on the slim design factor after all.

Other than that, there’s an interesting detail shared by the leaker, whether knowingly or not. Although it’s still sketchy and nothing to take as final, it reveals that the Galaxy S26 could feature Qi2 magnets. If true, that would make it fully Qi2-ready, much like Apple’s MagSafe system, and a step up from the current Qi2-ready standard.
As it stands, the Galaxy S25 series is only Qi2-ready, meaning it supports the Qi2 standard but not fully. It still requires an additional accessory (i.e., compatible case) to enable full functionality. Samsung could change that with the Galaxy S26 series. Interestingly, the company had even asked about this in a survey, though it noted that full Qi2 support might come at the cost of slightly thicker phones.
The latest leak also suggests a triple-camera housing on the back, resembling the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. That aligns with previous rumors hinting at the same design direction. On the hardware front, the Galaxy S26 may pack the Exynos 2600 processor (or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in some regions). It will run One UI 8.5 out of the box.
