Samsung led the global smartphone market in Q3 2025, shipping 60.6 million units. This has helped the Korean firm to post a 9% year-over-year (YoY) revenue growth, according to data from Counterpoint Research. The company’s latest foldable models and flagship S series played a key role in driving solid performance.

Samsung’s flagship models contributed largely to Q3 2025 sales

A few days ago, Samsung reported financial results for Q3 2025, showing a recovery in its key business. The Mobile Experience (MX) Business saw quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) and YoY growth in sales and operating profit. The great performance was the result of the robust demand for flagship smartphones and the successful launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Now, Counterpoint Research’s report suggests that a 3% increase in the average selling price (ASP) also contributed to the company’s revenue growth. “The ASP growth was driven by an increasing mix of the premium price tier as the Galaxy S25 series and latest lineup of foldables (Z Fold 7 and Flip 7) continue to outperform their predecessors,” the research firm noted.

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold 7, and Flip 7 brought a major leap in mobile technology. The Galaxy S25 lineup (S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra) and Z Fold 7 feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The 200MP main camera on the S25 Ultra and Z Fold 7 continues to attract buyers who love mobile photography. Likewise, the foldables are now thinner and lighter, with improved durability and AI-optimized features for a better experience on the large screens. Thanks to the 4.1-inch cover screen and a large 4,300 mAh battery, users are loving the latest Flip model.

Meanwhile, Apple also saw promising numbers in Q3 2025. The company witnessed its best-ever Q3 revenue (6% YoY) despite a slight decline in its average selling price. The base version of the iPhone 17 series is performing well due to its strong value proposition. Furthermore, the iPhone 16e continues to attract customers seeking more affordable options.
