Samsung may have pushed back the launch schedule for the beta program of its next major update. But it’s certainly not slowing down on internal testing. In a new development, the company has begun internally testing One UI 8.5 for the international variants of its 2025 foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE (review). This brings us one step closer to what’s shaping up to be a significant update.

Samsung is now internally testing One UI 8.5 build for the 2025 foldables’ international units

Tarun Vats (1, 2) reports that the first One UI 8.5 build has been spotted for the international variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 (review), and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. The corresponding build versions are F966BXXU6BYK7, F766BXXU6BYK7, and F761BXXU6BYK7.

While the update isn’t available for download yet and will likely take its time to arrive, this confirms that Samsung is actively working on it. Earlier reports suggested that the One UI 8.5 beta program could begin in late November. But those plans have now been delayed. Seemingly, the delay can be attributed to the Galaxy S26 launch plans.

One UI 8.5 is expected to introduce a host of new features, many of which we’ve already covered. You can check out our detailed roundups of additions and enhancements to get an idea of what to expect.

The stable version will likely debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series, which is reportedly set to launch on February 25. Store availability is expected to begin in March. That also means you probably won’t be able to get your hands on the stable One UI 8.5 before then.
