Galaxy S26 Edge Could Return as Samsung’s new “More Slim” Project

While the Galaxy S26 Edge looks canceled, Samsung may not be done with the “slim” experiment just yet. The company is reportedly working on a mysterious phone under the codename “More Slim.” The naming pattern matches the Galaxy S25 Edge, internally as “Slim,” suggesting that a successor is still in the pipeline.
Samsung may still launch a “slim” Galaxy S26 model next year
Over the past few weeks, rumors about the Galaxy S26 Edge have been all over the place. Some reports suggested that Samsung quietly scrapped the device, citing weaker-than-expected sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. Many fans assumed this marked the end of Samsung’s ultra-slim flagship experiment after just a year, but that may not be entirely true.
The latest discovery from GalaxyClub suggests that the Edge concept may still be alive within Samsung’s development labs. Interestingly, “More Slim” isn’t the same device previously thought to replace the Galaxy S26+. That earlier project is reportedly the one everyone expected to arrive as the S26 Edge, and it now stands canceled.
This new device, meanwhile, entered development later than the rest of the lineup. This suggests Samsung may be testing a fresh approach rather than abandoning the slim flagship idea altogether. Perhaps it will follow a similar path to the Galaxy S25 Edge. In that case, the company will unveil the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra early in the year and follow up with the S26 Edge a few months later.
It’s still unclear how the “More Slim” project differs from the original Galaxy S26 Edge. Reports indicate that Samsung introduced the S25 Edge primarily to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone Air, but neither device managed to create much excitement. That lukewarm response likely prompted Samsung to shelve the S26 Edge for now. The company may be taking its time to see how the market evolves before deciding whether to bring its ultra-slim flagship back to life.
