Surprise! Galaxy S26+ Pops Up in IMEI Database, Confirming Its Return

In case you haven’t caught the latest round of rumors, Samsung has reportedly pulled the plug on the Galaxy S26 Edge, and another report claims that the Galaxy S26 Pro won’t see the light of day either. Instead, Samsung is sticking to familiar territory with a lineup that includes the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Galaxy S26+ makes an entry to IMEI database, carrying a final number
Reports of the Samsung Galaxy S26+ making a comeback surfaced recently, and now there’s some solid evidence to back that up. According to the folks over at SmartPrix, the Galaxy S26+ has appeared in the GSMA IMEI database under the model number SM-S947B.

Wait, does that model number ring a bell? That’s because SM-S947 was previously associated with the Galaxy S26 Edge. But with rumors suggesting that the Edge isn’t joining the lineup this time, the database now lists the model as the Galaxy S26 Plus instead.
That pretty much paints the picture for now. And more importantly, confirms that the Galaxy S26+ is indeed happening. Samsung isn’t ready to pull the plug on it just yet. That said, details remain thin on the ground, and most of what we know so far is based on a few educated guesses.
Speaking of which, the Galaxy S26+ will most likely pack the Exynos 2600 chipset, just like the standard Galaxy S26. As for the camera setup, it’s still unclear whether we’ll see any upgrades or if Samsung will stick with the same sensors, especially since current firmware strings aren’t entirely reliable.
Similarly, the phone’s exact dimensions are still under wraps. A reasonable assumption would be that the Galaxy S26+ will feature slightly more rounded corners, with a raised triple-camera layout, in line with the rest of the lineup. Whatever other upgrades are in store should become clearer in the coming weeks. For now, though, we have credible evidence confirming that those earlier rumors were right on the money.
