Several Popular Apps Now Work on Galaxy Devices with T-Satellite

In July 2025, T-Mobile launched its satellite service, T-Satellite, to everyone across the US. However, the service was restricted to messaging and location-sharing, meaning users could not use their favorite apps through the satellite connection. The company recently expanded support to a bunch of popular apps.

T-Mobile previously confirmed that several Galaxy devices across the Galaxy S, A, Z, and XCover series are compatible with T-Satellite. T-Mobile plans like Experience Beyond include the service, while users on other carriers can opt for it for $10 per month. The company started the service with just text messaging and text-to-911, but now customers can use their phones to access more apps. This includes WhatsApp, AllTrails, AccuWeather, Google Maps, T-Life, X, CalTopo, OnX, and more.

“Now we’re taking it up a notch and bringing essential phone apps and services into the mix — giving people access to the apps they need most, in places they’ve never had a signal before. It’s a game-changer for safety, peace of mind, and the freedom to stay connected virtually anywhere,” said Mike Katz, President, Marketing, Innovation and Experience, T-Mobile.

Since announcing satellite data in June 2025, T-Mobile has worked with several app partners. These apps provide essential services in places where no traditional cell signal can reach. Of course, you may not get the same fast speeds as 5G, but at least you can stay connected through satellites, which is a huge advantage.

For example, with WhatsApp on T-Satellite, you can send messages, share photos, send voice notes, and make group calls. Likewise, X lets you scroll trending topics, post text, photos, GIFs, and videos without worrying about losing connectivity. Meanwhile, AccuWeather provides hyper-local forecasts, real-time storm alerts, UV index, and air quality. That means you can make the best weather-informed decisions in areas with no cell service.
