Samsung Pushes First Update to Galaxy Tab S11 Series with New Features

Amid a wave of One UI 8 releases, Samsung has started rolling out the first software update for the Galaxy Tab S11 series, which runs One UI 8 out of the box. The new tablets are getting the latest security fixes and some functional enhancements, including a Now Bar upgrade. The rollout has begun in South Korea and is expected to expand to more regions in the coming days.

Galaxy Tab S11 series receives its first update

The new firmware for the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, identified by the build version AYI4, weighs around 600MB. It brings the September 2025 security patch, which addresses several dozen vulnerabilities across various Android OS and One UI services. Some of these security flaws are labeled “critical,” potentially causing extensive damage when exploited.

While the package primarily focuses on improving system security and stability, Samsung has also slipped in a few noteworthy features. One of the headline additions is a feature that lets users check stock prices without unlocking their device. By creating a watchlist in Google Finance, important changes will appear in the Now Bar at the close of the trading day, making it easier to track market shifts at a glance.

Another useful addition is Disaster Text Translation. This feature automatically translates emergency alerts received in foreign languages, ensuring users don’t miss critical information during emergencies. Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra users may also notice smoother operation, fewer bugs, and overall reliability improvements after installing the latest update.

To install the update, users can head to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. We recommend that you connect your tablet to a stable Wi-Fi network and ensure the device has sufficient battery life before starting the process.
