Breaking! One UI 8 Stable Update Rolls Out to Galaxy A56

Samsung may have just opened One UI 8 floodgates. The update is now available for the Galaxy A56, its latest premium mid-range smartphone. Interestingly, the phone wasn’t part of Samsung’s beta program — Galaxy A55, A54, A36, and A35 were. These devices should also soon receive the stable One UI 8 update.
Galaxy A56 joins Samsung’s One UI 8 stable update party
Samsung sold the Galaxy A56 as the Galaxy Quantum 6 in its home country, South Korea. Debuted earlier this year with One UI 7 onboard, the device is now receiving an update to One UI 8. Korean users are getting the Android 16-based update with the firmware build number A566SKSU2BYI5. The build number may vary in other markets, but the contents will remain unchanged.
One UI 8 emphasizes fluid performance, smarter AI integration, and deeper personalization, giving users more control over how their device looks and feels. From enhanced lock screen customization and refreshed app layouts to fresh productivity-focused tools, this update strikes a balance between everyday convenience and premium functionality. It may not completely reinvent the interface, but it pushes Samsung’s software forward in a way that feels both modern and practical.
Alongside these goodies, the Galaxy A56’s One UI 8 update integrates the September 2025 security patch, strengthening the system’s protection against potential vulnerabilities. At the moment, the rollout is limited, but Samsung is expected to broaden availability soon. For users outside Korea, the update should arrive later this week. If you own a Galaxy A56 5G, you can manually check for the update from the Settings app.
One UI 8 should also soon roll out to more mid-range models, as well as older flagships. Samsung has already updated the Galaxy S25, S24, Fold 6, Flip 6, and Fold SE to the new version, at least in some regions. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE run One UI 8 out of the box.
