Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is on its way to set a new standard for Android smartphones. While the phone won’t debut until early next year, leaks have already shed light on plenty of details, along with an early look based on renderings. A fresh report now claims that the 2026 Ultra flagship model will feature M14 OLED material and COE (Color Filter on Encapsulation ) technology, suggesting substantial display upgrades.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra could redefine Android screens with advanced display technology

According to a report from ETNews, Samsung will feature the company’s latest OLED material, M14, in its upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is the first time the Korean firm is using this next-generation material in its smartphone, offering brighter displays, improved energy efficiency, and a longer lifespan compared to previous OLED panels.

All models of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 series used M13 materials. So, this upgrade will surely make the next-gen Ultra model stand out in terms of display performance. However, the publication says that the other models in the lineup, including the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge, will continue using the older M13 materials.

The M14 OLED materials come from several suppliers, such as DuPont, Universal Display (UDC), Duksan Neolux, Samsung SDI, and SFC. Different companies supply the red, green, and blue series emitters. Meanwhile, Dongjin Semichem and LG Chem supply key layers, such as the capping, hole blocking, and electron transport.

In addition to adopting the new material, the report mentions that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature COE technology, corroborating earlier leaks. It replaces the polarizer with a color filter in the encapsulation layer, making the screen thinner and brighter. So far, the company has been using this technology mainly in its foldable phones, but now it is making its way to a bar-type Galaxy smartphone. All things considered, the upcoming Ultra model may take the display experience to the next level.
