Samsung Shares Official One UI 8 (Android 16) Update Plan

Samsung has kept its promise by releasing the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series this month. If you own an older model, you might be wondering when your phone will get the update. Thankfully, the company has published a rollout schedule, outlining which devices will get the Android 16 software and when.

Samsung begins rolling out stable One UI 8 update

In July this year, Samsung shipped its One UI 8 with next-gen foldable devices, including Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. However, at that time, the company was letting S25 series users experience the new software through a beta program. Today, it officially wrapped up the program, pushing the stable version to S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge in South Korea. Other regions, including the US, should get the update soon.

Now the anticipation among owners of older Galaxy devices for the latest OS has begun. As always, Samsung will roll out the update in stages, prioritizing newer devices first. According to the official upgrade plan, several older devices like the Galaxy S24, S23, S22, and Z Fold 6 will get stable One UI 8 sometime next month. Of course, the Korean firm has not shared exact dates, but at least now you know when to expect the update.

Likewise, Galaxy devices like the Z Fold 5 and Z Fold 4 will have to wait a little longer. These devices will get access to the final One UI 8 build in November 2025. The good news is that Samsung has no intention of pushing the rollout into next year, meaning all eligible devices should get the update within this year.

Here’s the One UI 8 (Android 16) rollout schedule:

• October 2025: Galaxy S24/ S24+/ S24 Ultra, S24 FE, Quantum 6, S23/ S23+/ S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Quantum 5, Tab S10+/ S10 Ultra, Tab S10 FE/ S10 FE+, A36, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold Special Edition, Quantum 4, S22/ S22+/ S22 Ultra, Tab S9/ S9+/ S9 Ultra, Tab Active 5, Jump 4, A35, Tab S10 Lite, Tab S9 FE/ S9 FE+, XCover 7 Pro, A53, Quantum 3, Buddy 4, A34, A25, Wide 8.
• November 2025: Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Jump 3, Tab S8/ S8+/ S8 Ultra, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, A15, Buddy 3, A16, A24, A33, Wide 7, Jump 2, Tab Active 5 Pro, Tab A9/ A9+, Tab A11.
