One UI 8’s Quick Share Preparing to Reach More Galaxy Users

Time’s ticking, and we could soon see the stable rollout of One UI 8. A leaked roadmap suggests that the Galaxy S25 series will receive the One UI 8 update as early as Sept 18, which likely means that today’s beta update will be the last. While others wait, Samsung is also planning to expand One UI 8’s Quick Share to older devices.
One UI 8’s Quick Share coming soon to more phones
One of the key updates in the Android 16-based One UI 8 is the newly redesigned Quick Share. It has now appeared in the Galaxy Store as v13.8.01.11 (h/t: GalaxyTechie on X!). This suggests that Samsung is almost ready to roll out the updated Quick Share to devices running One UI 7 or even earlier versions.

As with most updates, don’t expect it to be available to everyone right away. Some users may already have access, while others might need to wait for the rollout. For the majority, the update likely isn’t available just yet.
Based on the screenshot shared by GalaxyTechie on X, we can see what’s new and what’s coming. Here’s the official changelog for Quick Share v13.8.01.11:
- Provides a receiving mode in Quick Share for quick and easy file transfers
- Provides a sending mode for selecting and sharing files in Quick Share
- When resending files after something goes wrong with file transfers or they are canceled, only the unsent files will be sent
- Increased the character limit for device names to make device identification easier
- Supports file transfers using Quick Share in Nearby Devices
