Five Pixel 10 Features Samsung Should Copy — #3 Could be a Game-changer
Google’s new Pixel 10 lineup doesn’t try to win on raw power. Instead, it leans heavily on smart software and thoughtful hardware choices that make a real difference in daily use. Samsung, while already ahead in performance and display technology, could take a few lessons from Google’s playbook. Here are five Pixel 10 features Samsung should copy for its upcoming Galaxy S26 phones, including a potential game-changer.
1. Smarter “extra dim” brightness control
Pixels have had Extra Dim for several years, but on the Pixel 10, Google integrated it directly into the brightness slider. Dragging brightness to the lowest level automatically enables it, making night-time use much easier on the eyes. On Galaxy phones, Extra Dim is still hidden in accessibility settings and not practical to toggle quickly. Rolling this into One UI’s brightness slider would be a small but meaningful quality-of-life improvement.
2. Qi2 wireless charging with built-in magnets
Pixel 10 phones all ship with Qi2-certified wireless charging and built-in magnets, enabling secure attachment to MagSafe-compatible chargers, stands, wallets, and mounts. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold even supports 25W Qi2.2 fast wireless charging. Samsung’s flagships, meanwhile, only have “Qi2 Ready” certification, which requires special cases with magnets. It’s time for Samsung to integrate real Qi2 hardware support and make wireless charging more convenient. If possible, without affecting reverse wireless charging.
3. 5x optical zoom for every model
All four Pixel 10 models — from the standard Pixel 10 to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold — come with a dedicated 5x telephoto camera. The higher-end models even use a 48MP sensor for sharper zoom shots. By contrast, Samsung still reserves its 5x telephoto camera for the Ultra model. The smaller flagships make do with a 3x 10MP lens, while the newly introduced Edge doesn’t have a zoom lens at all. If Samsung wants to stay competitive, it should bring 5x zoom to every Galaxy S model, not just the Ultra.
4. A higher-resolution selfie camera
The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL have 42MP front cameras, a huge leap over the 12MP sensor in the Galaxy S25 series. With Apple also rumored to move to a 24MP selfie camera, Samsung risks falling behind. Galaxy Ultra phones, at the very least, deserve a Pixel-level selfie camera upgrade for sharper detail in photos and 4K video calls.
5. A native journaling feature
Google introduced a new Journal app on the Pixel 10 to help users track thoughts and emotions as part of self-care. Samsung already has Samsung Notes, Calendar, Reminders, and Health. By adding a journaling feature — or even integrating one into Notes — the company could create a powerful wellness ecosystem that feels both natural and useful.
While Samsung already makes some of the most advanced smartphones in the world, these Pixel 10 features show how Google’s design philosophy focuses on practicality over specs. If the Korean firm adopts even a few of these Pixel 10 ideas, the Galaxy S26 series could feel smarter, friendlier, and more competitive.
