No In-Box Charger, But Some Galaxy A17 5G Buyers Get Free SmartTag

Samsung is gradually rolling out its new affordable 5G smartphone, the Galaxy A17 5G, in more markets. The company has today announced the availability of the device in Germany, strengthening its position in the European budget smartphone segment. Unfortunately, unlike some other markets, buyers in Germany don’t get an in-box charger. However, you can score a SmartTag 2 for free if you purchase the phone during the promotional period.
Galaxy A17 5G lands in Germany, free SmartTag 2 for early buyers
Samsung Galaxy A17 5G offers a balanced interplay of powerful performance, elegant design, and practical features at an affordable price. Furthermore, the phone is available in three color options: gray, blue, and black. In Germany, it costs €229 for the 128GB version while the 256GB version retails at €309. As of now, you can buy the device from the Samsung online store and the Shop app.

While markets like India are bundling a 25W charger in the box, the German customers will need to purchase a power brick separately, or they can continue to use an existing one. It’s quite surprising that Samsung is limiting this essential accessory to just a few markets. This disappoints many budget-conscious buyers, as they will have to invest in a charger.
However, the good news is that if you purchase the Galaxy A17 5G by September 18, Samsung will give a SmartTag 2 as a free gift. This is a promotional offer to attract early buyers and make the launch exciting. For the uninitiated, SmartTag 2 is a small tracking device that lets you find your belongings through the SmartThings app.
Speaking of the Galaxy A17 5G, it features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. For photography, it packs a triple rear camera system with a 50MP main unit (OIS), a 5MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2MP macro camera. Moreover, the company features a 13MP lens within a U-shaped notch for selfies. Other features include the Exynos 1330 chipset, a larger 5,000 mAh battery, and One UI 7 software (pre-installed).
