Samsung is finally giving its watermark feature a much-needed upgrade. With One UI 8, Galaxy devices will soon support redesigned pro-style photo watermarks that not only look cleaner but also carry detailed shooting information straight from the camera’s EXIF data. Interestingly, these watermarks also carry a new Vivid photo effect. If you apply the new styles, your photos will also appear more vibrant.

One UI 8 gets new watermarks with vivid-style photos

Until now, Samsung’s watermark option was limited, showing just the device name, date, and time, with the ability to add a short signature. The upcoming One UI 8 watermark engine changes that. According to a leaked screenshot shared by Ice Universe, the new watermark includes ISO, focal length, aperture, and shutter speed alongside the device name. You get two layouts, depending on portrait or landscape orientation.

As you can see, the captured photos are now displayed inside a frame. This allows the watermark text to sit outside the main photo area, giving images a cleaner, more premium finish.

Even more interesting is Samsung’s decision to tie the watermark feature to a new Vivid photo effect. Photos taken with the watermark enabled automatically apply this style, producing more vibrant colors and a punchier look. This subtle boost makes the watermarked shots appear livelier compared to regular captures. It’s unclear if Samsung plans to offer this vivid style as a standalone option for photo effects.

Users will be able to toggle watermarks directly from the camera toolbar. Samsung is also adding customization options for alignment and font, allowing users to personalize the look of their stamped photos. While the new watermark design is currently in internal testing, Samsung may launch it with the stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series next month. We will let you know when we have more information about this exciting update.
