August 2025 Update Lands on Galaxy S23 and Tab S10 — Beta Still Pending

Earlier today, Samsung rolled out One UI 8 beta programs to the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6. While the Galaxy S23 and Tab S10 series are also confirmed to get beta updates, no official launch date is available yet. Meanwhile, Samsung has dropped a pleasant surprise for users of these devices. The August 2025 security update is now rolling out to both lineups, bringing critical fixes and performance improvements.
Galaxy S23 and Tab S10 get August 2025 security update
Currently rolling out in South Korea, the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are getting the latest security patch with firmware version DYG8, while the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra are receiving the build version BYH1. According to Samsung’s August 2025 security bulletin, the update addresses around four dozen vulnerabilities, including one critical Android OS flaw and 18 Galaxy-specific security issues.
This update should soon hit the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Tab S10 devices in more markets. While the package doesn’t introduce any new features, users can expect subtle stability improvements. More importantly, this could be the final software release for the devices before Samsung rolls out One UI 8 beta. The beta program will be available in the US, the UK, India, and South Korea later this month or in early September.
With today’s expansion, One UI 8 beta is now available for the Galaxy S25, S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6. The Galaxy S23 and Tab S10 aren’t the only ones scheduled to get beta updates in the coming weeks, though. Samsung has also confirmed beta releases for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 8, and a bunch of mid-range smartphones. We will let you know when the company officially rolls out beta registrations for these devices. In the meantime, if you are using a Galaxy S23 or Tab S10, watch out for the August 2025 update.
